Tasted: 31/10/2017
Drink: 2018 - 2038

"Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2014 tasting, Barthod's 2014 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Fuées has a pure, intense bouquet, a mixture of mainly red fruit (cherry, pomegranate and wild strawberry) all suffused with wonderful tension and mineralité. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tension, a little more density than Patrice & Maxime Rion's Les Fuées, while there is plenty of grippiness toward the finish. Maybe it does not quite have the persistence or the grace of Rion's Fuées, but it is undoubtedly a beautifully realized Chambolle-Musigny that will give pleasure for many years. Tasted September 2017."
