Served blind at the Southwold 2009 tasting. There is plenty of candied red berry fruit on this playful bouquet that is well defined and very perfumed. It is designed with mass appeal in mind. The palate is medium-bodied with a nice firm grip on the entry. It is very compact, pinched in fact, with a blunt, tannic, very foursquare finish that is very Saint Estephe. This is a little brutish now but it will improve. Tasted January 2013.
