Tasted blind at Flint Wines' 2007/2012 Nuits Saint-Georges tasting in London. The 2012 Nuits Saint-Georges 1er Cru Clos des Forêts Saint Georges from Domaine de l'Arlot was quite reduced on the nose. There's good fruit here, but there is also a fug of SO2. The palate is medium-bodied with smooth, rounded tannin. I admire its brightness, as if it is making amends for the aromatics, the acidity and the copious red cherry and strawberry fruit flowing seamlessly towards the finish. It just needs a few years for the aromatics to sort themselves out, but after an odd showing a couple of years ago, it would seem that this is finally getting its act together. Tasted November 2016.
