Tasted ex-chateau and single blind in Southwold. The Branon 2008 has a very opulent, oaky bouquet with potent floral aromas that are (like other wines in this flight) very Margaux-like. The palate is full-bodied with firm grippy tannins that almost overwhelm the finish. It has a huge vice-like grip and at the moment seems more impressive than enjoyable. But give this a decade in bottle, it should turn out very fine. Tasted January 2012.
