The 2014 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru is matured entirely in new oak and includes 60% whole bunch fruit. It has an introspective nose at first, but it opens with just a few swirls of the glass, revealing very floral, very feminine dark cherry and black plum fruit, sous-bois and oyster shell scents. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannin, quite masculine and structured with modest depth, a little "serious" towards the finish with a saline aftertaste. Very fine, very classy.
