"Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2014 tasting, Henri Gouges' 2014 Nuits Saint Georges 1er Cru les Pruliers has quite a forward bouquet with bold red cherries, raspberry and light chocolaty scents that clearly need more time in bottle. The palate is medium-bodied with supple red berry fruit and quite juicy tannin that lend this an appealing fatness in the mouth, although it does not deliver the articulacy of some of the other Nuits-Saint-Georges that I have encountered from this vintage. This showed better out of barrel, but I suspect it will achieve a higher grade with 3-4 more years of bottle age. Tasted September 2017."
